All students wear costumes in our annual recital. We choose our costumes carefully, looking for more modest costumes at all age levels.  In October, we begin measuring for costumes and costume payments are due by Halloween.  Costumes are ordered early November to ensure they arrive by early spring.  Recital music and costumes will be announced to each class in November, as well!

On-Stage/Blocking Rehearsal allows students to become familiar with the stage and is the time when spacing for the dances is set.  Dancers do not wear costumes for this rehearsal but proper dance attire is required, as well as any props used in the dance. And of course, a smile!  This rehearsal is recorded.  Students will watch the recording at their next class after the rehearsal to polish the dance.  B

Dress Rehearsal is considered a "Practice Recital". Students rehearse in their costume, practice making costume changes and work out any final bugs. It is run as close to the actual recital line-up as possible and takes place the evening before Recital.

Our dance season begins in September and ends in June with our annual recital.  Our end of the year performance provides students with the fun opportunity to perform on stage and demonstrates the skills and techniques they have practiced all year.  The recital is held at the newly renovated O'Leary Auditorium in Garden City High School.  Please use this page to find all recital documents and information!  Check out some updated pictures in our slideshow from our 2022-2023 recital!

Dance pictures are taken every spring at the dance studio by Focal Point photography studio. We announce the dance picture date in advance for proper planning and the sign up sheet is released online. All photo slots are first come-first serve! For dance photos, dancers are dressed in costume, with full makeup and hair up.

Photos can be taken in various combinations: individually, with siblings or friends, and even with Dads for our Dad/Daughter Dance. Orders are paid in full on photo day, and pictures are available for pick-up at the studio the week after recital.

Our recital is professionally videotaped and compiled. The recital DVDs can be purchased. Flash photography is not allowed at recital as it is too distracting to dancers and the audience. It is, however, allowed at the on-stage blocking and dress rehearsals only.

Recital Music - for student practice:

Dancers, we encourage practice at home! Each year we ensure you will have access to your recital music for this reason.  We will provide the edited music after we begin choreography in class.

Calling all dads!  Every year we offer a fun opportunity for daughters to dance with their dads and perform in our end of the year recital.  Dad/daughter practices take up only four Sundays out of the year as well as the Blocking rehearsal and Dress rehearsal. Pictured to the right are the 2022-2023 Dad/Daughter dancers that performed in our June Recital!
